Our Preaching
Any explanation for what we believe about preaching needs to begin with what we believe about the word of God.
The Word of God – We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20,21; Mark 13:31; John 8:31,32; John 20:31; Acts 20:32
As part of our regular Sunday worship liturgy (order of worship) we include as much Scripture as we can. We pray the Bible, read the Bible, sing the Bible and preach the Bible. By preaching we simply mean explaining the meaning and intent of a biblical text. The pastor’s goal is to make the passage clear and understandable, to present God, man, and Christ as the Scripture presents them, and to call all people to respond.. Our current practice is for the pastor to preach through a book of the Bible, with occasional breaks taken for timely, seasonal sermons, such as for Thanksgiving or Advent. Right now, Pastor Brian is preaching verse by verse through the book of Genesis.
